BSc (Hons) in Tourism Marketing

This degree focuses on how tourist destinations present themselves to visitors. Because tourism sells an experience rather than a physical product, promoting it calls for a different approach from ordinary product marketing. Oman's destinations need to stay visible regionally and internationally and meet the needs of present and future visitors, which demands stronger customer focus and refined marketing practice. The course takes an interdisciplinary approach and aims to produce tourism professionals who appreciate how marketing supports business growth. Study lasts 8 semesters when attended full time and 10 when attended part time, and a diploma option runs for 4 semesters full time or 6 part time. Graduates can work as social media managers, public relations managers, MICE coordinators or destination marketing managers in airlines, hotels, tour operators and exhibition centres.
