MS - Interior Design

The Master of Science in Interior Design at the Scientific College of Design is a graduate programme with a first-year and a second-year study plan. All students take art and design management, research methods, and design theory and aesthetics, then move to interior design courses and electives before completing a graduate thesis and project. The subject courses include Theories of Interior Design, which examines interior design theory and its debates, and Adaptive Reuse in Historic Buildings, which treats heritage reuse as a source of identity and economic benefit and looks at the sustainability of tangible and intangible heritage. Interior Design Professional Practice covers the stages of construction, preparing documents and the duties of interior designers across a project, grounded in what the Omani construction market requires, and Interior Design Thinking is taught in the second year.
