BA/BS in Accountancy

The Accountancy programme at Sohar University is run by the Faculty of Business and prepares students for careers in accounting and finance. It is taught in English on a full-time basis and can be completed either as a two-year diploma or as a four-year bachelor's degree, which carries 131 credit hours. The curriculum develops quantitative reasoning, analytical problem solving, business communication and an understanding of how organisations operate. Alongside classroom study, students can take part in industry visits, talks by practising business people, team-building activities and training opportunities. Graduates are positioned for work in accounting firms, banks and other financial institutions, insurance companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, and public and private employers. The programme also points students toward professional credentials, including the CPA and CMA, once they have graduated.
