Bachelor of Arabic Language Literature

The Bachelor of Arabic Language and Literature at Sohar University is a four-year, full-time degree of 128 credit hours taught in Arabic. It gives students spoken and written command of the language and a study of its literature, including Omani literature. Graduates can work in editing, proofreading and other educational fields, and in areas linked to innovation, culture and the safeguarding of national language and literary heritage. Those who also complete the teacher preparation programme can become Arabic language teachers, while others find work with publishers, newspapers and organisations that depend on accurate grammar in printed material, proofreading and audits. Separate learning outcomes and programme matrices are published for students who began in 2021-2022 or earlier and for those who start in 2025-2026 or later.
