This first-cycle Biology programme explains how organisms function, from the cell and DNA level up to whole ecosystems. Students learn to observe and research biological systems and analyse their results, with much of the course delivered in laboratories and in the field.
Subjects include cell biology, genetics, general ecology, microbiology and field classes in botany and zoology. After the second semester students choose medical biology or a teaching track, which requires continuation at second-cycle level for teacher qualification. Placements include research laboratories, national parks and botanical gardens.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Matura written exams: Polish, a foreign language and mathematics at basic level, plus one extended-level subject: mathematics or biology (biology preferred), and the required documents.
