This four-year honours degree in computer science is taught by NTU's computing and data science college. It gives demanding instruction in computing basics, algorithms, software design and the handling of data systems, with an up-to-date emphasis on AI, data science and newer technologies, and it is open to applicants with strong mathematics, physics or computing preparation.
In contrast with a broader science degree, the course stresses practical application. Students complete a compulsory industrial attachment, take part in group innovation and design projects, and finish with a capstone in the final year, with smaller projects scattered through the curriculum. Applications range across healthcare, business, finance and sustainability.
Graduates can pursue roles such as software engineer, AI or machine learning engineer, data scientist, cybersecurity engineer or researcher. Applicants need good A Level, IB, NUS High School or polytechnic results and a solid foundation in mathematics, physics or computing.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet NTU's undergraduate admissions criteria: good results in GCE A Levels, IB Diploma, NUS High School Diploma or a polytechnic diploma (or equivalent), and a strong foundation in Mathematics or Physics or Computing. Students with certain qualifications may receive course exemptions.
