This four-year honours degree in mechanical engineering covers a broad discipline from electric vehicles to more environmentally friendly 3D printing. Its curriculum is updated regularly to follow industry trends. From the second year, students choose between a mainstream route and a stream focused on intelligent design and manufacturing.
Mechanical engineers apply physics, mathematics and engineering principles to design, develop and improve the mechanical systems behind modern industries. Mainstream students pick from areas such as aeronautical engineering, naval architecture and marine management, smart manufacturing and systems engineering. Students who perform very well in the first semester may be offered an accelerated route that takes seven semesters rather than eight.
Applicants need H2-level Mathematics and a science or computing subject at A Level, or equivalents from the IB, NUS High School and international qualifications.
