Overview

CEE, NTU's civil and environmental engineering school, offers a Master of Engineering by research on a full-time or part-time basis. The candidate carries out research under a supervisor and submits a thesis based on that work for examination. Candidature lasts at least twelve months and up to thirty-six months for both modes of study. Alongside the research, candidates complete coursework worth 6 academic units with a CGPA of 3.00 and must keep regular contact with their supervisor throughout. Research areas in the school include construction technology and management, digital civil engineering, and environmental and water resources, among others. Candidates can start in August or January, and applicants are advised to submit their applications about four months ahead of the intake they want.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: A good honours degree, at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or Honours (Distinction), and the ability to pursue research in the proposed field of advanced study. TOEFL or IELTS is required if the bachelor's programme was not taught in English; test dates must be within two years of the application. Each application is charged S$50. Intake in August or January is subject to the school's selection and recommendation.
