Master of Science in Sustainability and Environmental Engineering

This coursework master's degree is run by NTU's civil and environmental engineering school for people who want to design and apply sustainable engineering solutions to environmental challenges. It can be studied full-time or part-time and combines advanced environmental science with engineering and sustainable resource management. Applicants are expected to hold an engineering degree or an equivalent in a related discipline. Coursework touches on treating water and wastewater, controlling air pollution, managing energy and waste, recovering resources, protecting coastlines and managing floods, alongside the circular economy and desalination. The emphasis throughout is on practical sustainability problems that matter in Singapore and elsewhere. Career paths include environmental engineering, sustainability consulting and policy analysis across the private, public and non-profit sectors, in Singapore and overseas. Two intakes are offered each year, in August and January.
