Overview

This master's programme offers a deep look at people, society, culture and the ideas shaping the modern world. It combines humanities and social science perspectives and prepares students to analyse intricate social, cultural and communication questions critically. Over two years and four semesters, students earn 120 ECTS credits. The curriculum is interdisciplinary, covering philosophy, anthropology, history, media, art and culture, and a large share of electives lets students steer their studies toward their own professional or research interests. Students are trained to think critically, build arguments, interpret sources and carry out independent research, and the last semester goes to a master's thesis counting for 30 ECTS. Study is part-time in Ljubljana and Maribor, with lectures held in the afternoon, recorded, and open to online attendance; exams may be on site or online. Lectures begin in October, and graduates hold a Master of Arts degree in Humanities.
