BA/BS in Photography (1st Cycle)

The photography programme has been delivered since 2009 and covers photography and visual communication broadly. It amounts to 180 credit points and can be taken as a regular or part-time study, either as one three-year course or as separate modules for further training. In the first two years students gain basic photographic skills and are introduced to the technical principles of digital and analogue work. From the first year they meet techniques from the early history of photography, such as the collodion process, alongside digital processing and video. Teaching covers studio, fashion, reportage, authorial, documentary, architectural and other genres, as well as video, the basics of graphic design, placing images in context, printing techniques and presenting one's own work. Students spend time in the darkroom, work with models and professional studio equipment including modern lighting, or go out on location. They also cooperate with students of cosmetics in another department of the school.
