The School of Environmental Sciences runs this second-cycle programme as the next level of its Environment study. It is clearly interdisciplinary and research-minded, addressing the principal areas of environmental science: contamination of water, air and soil, techniques for measuring and controlling pollutants, treating waste and the effects of disposing of it, the chemical, physical, biological and health impacts of pollution, and the legal, economic and management aspects of protecting the environment.
Candidates with a suitable first-level degree in biotechnology, technical or natural sciences register without extra conditions, while others may be given additional study requirements to complete before enrolling in year one. Comparable education from abroad is accepted on the same basis.
The award is a Diploma, with the title magister okoljskih ved, described as equivalent to a Master of Science.
