MA/MS in Data Science

Data Science is a second-cycle master's programme at the University of Primorska's Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies (UP FAMNIT), taught in Koper in Slovene and English. It is studied full-time over two years and four semesters and carries 120 ECTS credits. The title awarded is magister podatkovnih znanosti, which the faculty equates to a Master's degree in Data Science. From the 2026/2027 academic year, an agreement with the University of Trieste lets students graduate with two diplomas: Data Science from UP FAMNIT, and the Trieste degree titled Laurea Magistrale and covering Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Taking part requires spending at least one semester at Trieste under an individual learning agreement drawn up after acceptance into the programme. Both partners fully recognise the credits and learning outcomes earned at the other institution, and students who defend their thesis and gather the required credits receive diplomas from each.
