The Cinema and Television programme combines theory and practice, with courses on communication theory, mass communication, research methods, world and Turkish cinema history, film production, screenwriting, television programme making, editing and film criticism. Students are encouraged to think critically and express themselves freely.
The four-year programme includes an internship and requires students to submit practical projects such as short films, documentaries, television programmes and live broadcasts across the four years. The department admitted its first students in 2007-2008 and aims to graduate artists who understand the pre-production, production and post-production stages of the sector.
