Overview

The two-year Culinary Arts associate programme trains professional cooks who combine the country's culinary heritage with scientific techniques. Graduates are expected to understand the history of food culture and the role of nutrition and health, and to be creative cooks with command of their craft. The curriculum is designed to match sector needs. Graduates may transfer to four-year bachelor's programmes such as Gastronomy and Culinary Arts or Nutrition and Dietetics, and the page describes the programme as aimed at a growing demand for trained cooks as dining out and gastronomy tourism increase.
