The Bioengineering bachelor's programme was founded in 2000 in the Faculty of Engineering and was the first of its kind in Turkey. It is offered only as a daytime programme, and admitted students are placed through the central national placement exam.
Students who complete the study plan and a four-week workplace internship receive a Bioengineering bachelor's degree. The diploma is issued in both English and Turkish, and the programme lasts four years with English-medium study.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission is through Türkiye's national university entrance examination YKS (Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı), with central placement by ÖSYM using the SAY (numerical) score type. In the 2026 guide the programme offered 70 places; the lowest placed candidate scored 441.2 (success rank 72,124). Candidates must rank within the top 300,000 in that score type. Programmes taught in a foreign language require passing the university's language proficiency exam or an accepted certificate, otherwise a preparatory year. International students apply directly to the university under its international (YÖS) quota.
Application Details
Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
