The Chinese Language and Literature programme focuses on the Chinese language, literature and culture. Its courses include classical and modern Chinese literature, classical and modern Chinese, written and spoken expression, translation and Chinese culture. Students also learn to research pre-Islamic Turkish history and civilisation using Chinese-language sources.
The department aims to train specialists in China for the official and private sectors and offers teacher training (formasyon) alongside the degree. Students can take double major and minor programmes with other departments, and the programme is four years long.
