Overview

The two-year Ceramic and Glass Design associate degree is taught in Turkish at the Banaz Vocational School in Uşak. Students learn clay preparation, shaping on the wheel and in plaster moulds, glazing and firing, and decoration techniques. They also learn to prepare colouring oxides and pigments from metal oxides, and ceramic restoration. The programme aims to produce competent intermediate staff for the ceramics sector, in pattern design units, textile design workshops and ceramic and glass businesses. An internship is part of the programme. Admission uses the TYT score type through the central ÖSYM placement exam.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: YKS central placement (ÖSYM) under the TYT score type; 25 places; lowest placement score 242.2 (success rank 1,610,250). Taught in Turkish.

Application Details

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
