Overview

The Economics bachelor's programme at Yalova University trains graduates who can analyse economic problems in Turkey and the world and develop policy solutions. The department was established in 2009, admitted its first students in 2012 and started a master's programme in 2013. Thirty percent of teaching is in English. Students complete compulsory and elective courses worth 240 ECTS with a minimum weighted grade point average of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale. Graduates receive a bachelor's degree in Economics and can work in banking, finance, foreign trade, planning and accounting, or pursue academic careers.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Central placement by ÖSYM through YKS using the EA score type; 40 places; lowest placement score 314.7 (success rank 283,262). Applicants need a high school diploma and a sufficient university entrance exam score. Instruction is 30% English.

Application Details

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
