Overview

The MPhil in Radiology is wholly research-based, and each student undertakes a project in one of the department's active research themes. Current themes include magnetic resonance imaging, hyperpolarised MRI and positron emission tomography, so applicants can select a project that matches their background and interests. The course runs for twelve months full-time or twenty-four months part-time. Students work in the research environment of the department and receive supervision on their project, building the experimental and analytical skills needed for medical imaging research. Assessment is by a thesis and an oral examination. The department lists several intakes each year, so applicants should consult the published deadlines and plan their applications around the intake that suits them.
