PGCert in Accounting and Related Services

This post-baccalaureate certificate serves people with a business bachelor's degree who want to enter accounting from another field, or who already hold a junior accounting post and hope to advance. It is built from twelve undergraduate accounting courses that teach core principles and techniques. Because the courses must be taken in sequence, completion normally takes six semesters. A student who transfers in up to 15 qualifying credits, with chair approval, may finish in two semesters. For students whose bachelor's degree is in another subject, the certificate also helps satisfy accounting prerequisites for the university's MBA with an accounting specialization and for similar programs elsewhere. Students can therefore use the certificate either as a career credential in itself or as preparation for later graduate business study.
