PGCert in Educational Administration and Supervision

This specialist-level route in school administration and supervision results in an Ed.S. degree and Georgia Tier II performance-based certification. Tier II prepares candidates for roles such as principal, curriculum director, subject area supervisor and superintendent. It is intended for people who already hold a master's degree and leadership certification and who work in a P-12 school. The plan includes personalized field and clinical experiences that build knowledge, skills and professional dispositions. Only courses completed once the student is enrolled count toward the degree, and credits cannot be older than six years when the degree is finished. A limited amount of transfer credit from an approved Georgia institution may be included. Prospective students should review the full catalog entry for course sequences, prerequisites and grade rules, and speak with an academic advisor at Albany State University before building a schedule.
