— it helps other students.
The Ed.S. certificate prepares educators for administrative positions and gives practicing administrators a way to strengthen their leadership skills. It can also serve as a stepping stone toward doctoral study.
Coursework is fully online, with an in-person internship in the learner's local community. The plan of work is individualized with an academic advisor and follows one of two concentrations: elementary and secondary administration, or special education administration. Students complete the internship in a setting near home.
Based on the plan chosen, students may qualify to apply for a Michigan administrator credential, either for K-12 administration or for special education supervisor approval. The certificate totals 30 to 35 credits, and completers may use the credential to advance into leadership roles.
