BA/BS in Fine and Studio Arts

Athens State University's Art program lets students pursue a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a minor also available. Classes meet in Decatur, Alabama, at the arts center, where faculty provide hands-on instruction and individual attention. The BA gives wide preparation in making art, thinking creatively and general liberal study, which suits students who want versatility. The BFA goes deeper into studio work and is often chosen by those planning to continue toward a Master of Fine Arts. Students develop observation, collaboration and visual communication skills while finding their own artistic voice. Career paths include art, design, education and communication. The average completion time listed is two years.
