Cert in Bible/Biblical Studies

Athens State University's Undergraduate Certificate in Biblical Studies offers concentrated academic work on the Bible, its texts and the historical, cultural and religious settings that shaped them. It is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences. Students learn to read passages with attention to context, authorship, audience and interpretation, and they meet differing approaches to understanding Scripture. Reading, research, analysis and communication skills grow alongside that content knowledge. The certificate suits people drawn to ministry, church leadership, teaching religion or faith-based service, as well as anyone wanting deeper study of the Bible. It can be taken online and is listed as taking under one year.
