The MS in Arts & Cultural Management prepares students for professional careers in arts and cultural organizations in the public, nonprofit and commercial sectors, at home and abroad. It is offered on the Charles River Campus and online.
The program stresses artistic excellence, creative economic problem solving, global networking and new technologies, with particular attention to helping arts organizations achieve their missions. Core courses cover the art world, international arts practice, and public art, curating and creative startups, and students may add concentrations.
Graduates learn to apply governance and legal knowledge, build financial, marketing and fundraising plans, compare national cultural policies, and address diversity, equity and inclusion. A non-credit laboratory in professional practice is also required. Students may begin in the fall, spring or summer term.
