MA/MS in International Relations and National Security Studies

The MA in Global Policy readies students for rapidly growing work in shaping, carrying out and assessing international policy, with careers in government, international bodies, nongovernmental groups and business. Three terms long, the program is a joint effort of the Pardee School, the public health school and the Earth & Environment department. Students take core training in policy analysis methods and in the context of global institutions and politics, then study a specialization, currently environmental policy, developmental policy or international public health policy. Universal requirements include quantitative methods, international economics, negotiation and diplomacy, policy analysis and a capstone seminar where teams carry out projects usually contracted by real clients. Regional expertise can additionally be shown with a graduate certificate from one of the school's area centers.
