Overview
The Music Technology Associate of Science targets students seeking work in the commercial music field and current professionals who wish to advance. Possible careers include recording engineer, sound designer, live sound engineer and producer.
Coursework covers musicianship, digital audio production, MIDI systems, sound design and acoustics. An audio technology technical certificate is included. Specialty classes meet at Central Campus, and graduates may continue into the Bachelor of Applied Science.
Entry requires a high school diploma or GED. Students work through courses in music appreciation, mathematical thinking and composition alongside studio-oriented classes, so the degree pairs technical audio skills with a broad academic base that supports later transfer. Students can review the complete course list and plan of study in the college catalog, and advisors are available to help sequence classes each term.
