AA/AS in Engineering Technologies/Technicians, General

This Associate of Science in Engineering Technology with an Advanced Manufacturing emphasis prepares students for jobs, or further training, in manufacturing, medical, electronics, aerospace and related industries. A shared core is recommended before moving into more specialized courses. Topics include communication, technical competence, safe work practices, and a mix of theory and laboratory activity supporting design, production, testing and quality. Specialized classes are split between two campuses, North and Judson A. Samuels South. Entry requires a high school diploma or GED. The mix of lecture and laboratory work gives learners practice with tools and processes they would meet on a production floor, and the common core helps students decide on a specialty before moving deeper into one area. Students can review the complete course list and plan of study in the college catalog, and advisors are available to help sequence classes each term.
