BA/BS in Chemistry

Chemistry at Brown can be studied for an A.B. or an Sc.B. Courses and research span identifying and making synthetic and natural molecules and interdisciplinary work linking chemistry to biology, medicine, physics, engineering and nanoscale science. Undergraduates can join faculty research projects individually or in small groups from the first year. The Sc.B. gives a thorough base for graduate study or technical positions, and students can follow the standard concentration or one of two optional tracks, in chemical biology or in materials chemistry. The A.B. offers central training in the field for students who want a less specialized route.
