AA/AS in Accounting and Related Services

The Accounting associate degree runs two years and suits students with good math skills who are interested in business careers. Courses teach learners to set up and maintain accounting systems, analyze financial records, prepare tax returns, produce periodic reports and process payroll. Faculty consult with industry professionals about the skills employers want, and since many firms look for accountants who solve problems and communicate well, the program works to develop both abilities. Students who completed the Accounting Assistant diploma already have credits toward this degree. Delivery follows the MyChoice model in Eau Claire, with August and January starts and an advanced placement option. Career titles include tax professional, accountant or controller and receivables supervisor. Students may be eligible for federal financial aid, and people with earlier work or classroom experience can ask about receiving credit for prior learning. The college also maintains agreements with other institutions so graduates can transfer credits if they continue their studies.
