BA/BS in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management

Management Information Systems is a concentration inside the Business Administration major, designed for students who want to link business thinking with information technology. It suits analytical people who like solving problems with technology. Beyond the general education, liberal arts and business core courses, the study plan covers analyzing and designing systems, building applications and websites, designing databases with business intelligence, qualitative management methods, and managing information system projects. An optional internship lets students take on real MIS projects for a company, a charity or the university itself. Graduates can move into roles such as business analyst or IT associate, using technology to analyze business problems, improve communication and data storage, and raise productivity. The concentration is housed in the School of Business and its Department of Business Administration, so students benefit from the same advising and faculty as other business majors.
