Program details

Overview

Cornell started graduate-level preservation teaching earlier than almost anywhere else in the nation, and employers seek out the program's graduates. The degree is an intensive master's course of study. Students normally need two years of coursework and complete a thesis within the credit total. Students also need a preservation core and American architecture history, unless earlier undergraduate study already covered them. Progress reviews begin in the first year, and the program runs in person in Ithaca.
