Overview

The Nutritional Sciences major examines how dietary patterns, nutritional status and health are connected. It uses chemistry, biology and social science to ask how the body uses nutrients and what shapes human food choices. Students also look at which nutrients and eating patterns support growth and health. Beyond college distribution requirements, majors complete a set of required courses and advanced nutrition electives. The degree requires a total credit load for graduation.
