MA/MS in Cognitive Science

Offered by the Department of Cognitive Science, this one-year degree runs on a full-time basis and provides flexible graduate preparation. It fits students with backgrounds in linguistics, psychology, computing, neuroscience and related areas. It can improve a doctoral application or competitiveness for jobs where such a degree helps. Students select a research track or a coursework track, with a faculty mentor guiding both. Courses cannot be counted twice, and most obligations must be met in fall and spring terms. The department stresses that this degree stands apart from its own PhD and does not lead into it.
