Program details

Overview

The Chemistry transfer degree covers the early-stage requirements for chemistry majors moving to a four-year public institution in California. People with chemistry training may pursue pharmacy, medicine, engineering and teaching, as well as biotechnology, forensics or patent law. The degree is built for students planning to move on to a California State University campus and complete a bachelor's degree in the same major. Coursework covers the lower division major requirements together with general education preparation, so the credits are intended to carry forward. Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor or the Transfer Center to match their plan to the requirements of the receiving school, since those can differ from campus to campus. The degree also demonstrates commitment to the field to future institutions.
