Program details

Overview

The chemistry transfer pathway covers how atoms are built, how reactions occur and how matter behaves physically. It prepares students for further study and for employment in drug development, medicine, engineering and materials research. Students get hands-on practice with instrumentation used in industry. Class sizes are capped, so instructors can give attention to each learner. The college says its chemistry courses transfer widely, allowing students to finish a four-year degree elsewhere in the country. The Twin Cities region has many companies, large and small, that hire chemists. Prospective students can review program details, cost information and faculty listings on the program page before applying. An online video walkthrough of the chemistry lab is available, helping applicants picture the instruments and workspace they would use during their studies.
