BA/BS in Funeral Service and Mortuary Science

The Funeral Service Bachelor of Science is an accredited course of study for practitioners who want to advance their careers and meet state licensure rules that require the baccalaureate. Students enter with an associate degree from an ABFSE-accredited program, complete upper-division major courses, upper-division general education and the cultural diversity requirement. At least 24 units of upper-division work must be done at Cypress. Total degree units are 120-131. Candidates must also keep a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 across all college-level coursework, and the residency rule applies to the upper-division units. Students should speak with a counselor early to confirm licensure expectations and how their associate coursework applies to the upper-division sequence.
