Program details

Overview

This advanced certificate prepares students to produce and finish technical drawings while assisting project engineers. Computer aided designers and drafters turn sketches and specifications from engineers into detailed computer drawings used as working plans. Training is hands-on, with small classes and current drafting software, and instructors bring years of field experience. Duties after graduation range from creating simple drawings to revising finished designs with CAD equipment. The Computer Aided Design (CAD) program is planned as 3 semesters and 35 credits, using a mix of in-person and online delivery. Delta College publishes an estimated cost covering tuition and fees, with separate figures for in-district, out-of-district and out-of-state students. Prospective students can also talk with a Student Success Advisor about career goals and pathways. Course sequences and transfer options are listed on the program page.
