AA/AS in Electrical and Power Transmission Installers

The electrician program gives students the skills to become licensed in the state of Michigan. Electricians install, maintain and repair wiring and equipment while following relevant codes, working in residential or industrial settings. Students apply electrical theory to direct and alternating current circuits and learn to design inputs, outputs and programs for industrial control systems. They also study electrical and fluid power drawings and industrial code standards. A certificate path is available for shorter training. The Electrician program is planned as 6 semesters and 63 credits, using a mix of in-person and online delivery. Delta College publishes an estimated cost covering tuition and fees, with separate figures for in-district, out-of-district and out-of-state students. Prospective students can also talk with a Student Success Advisor about career goals and pathways. Course sequences and transfer options are listed on the program page.
