BA/BS in Data Science

The Data Science major draws on statistics, computing and subject expertise so that graduates can draw insight from data. Coursework covers programming, statistical modelling, machine learning and data visualization. Applications range across healthcare, business, sports and public policy, and the major can be combined with other subjects. It is housed in Eastern's mathematics and computational sciences school at St. Davids. The program takes a Christian liberal arts approach, aiming to produce graduates who can approach the field with a sense of ethics and personhood. Students can extend their study with a master's degree in data science at a reduced additional cost and time. Students gain skills that transfer easily to employers across a wide range of fields. The curriculum emphasises hands-on projects so that graduates can show what they can build and analyse.
