AA/AS in Engineering, General

Pre-Engineering is an associate degree that gives students a broad view of engineering. It combines general education with the foundational courses required to enter an engineering college. The program is meant for students who plan to transfer and finish an engineering bachelor's degree or something close to it. Its courses are common to every engineering specialty. Students study chemistry, programming, several levels of calculus, linear algebra, differential equations and calculus-based physics. Admission looks at a high school GPA and test scores, while transfer students need a college GPA after at least twelve credits, including English and mathematics. The program is delivered through the Mathematics department. The program is based at the Main Campus of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.
