Program details

Overview

This bachelor's degree prepares graduates to serve and speak up for children, youth and families. Typical settings include human and health service agencies, child care, family life education, cooperative extension, and roles in business and government. Students complete a planned minor or area of concentration in another field to widen their skills and job prospects, and double majors or minors are encouraged with early planning. Three prerequisite courses must be finished with at least a C minus. Instruction is in person at the Tallahassee campus only. Florida State University lists this major in its academic program guide, which names the hosting college and an advising contact. Prospective students can use the guide to plan their early coursework, and transfer students are advised to speak with an advisor soon so previous credits line up with the major. Several prerequisite courses may also count toward general education.
