The Associate of Science in Business at Howard College is a transfer-oriented degree plan that covers the lower-division requirements for a business bachelor's degree. It is laid out as four semesters of coursework that add up to 60 credit hours. Early terms combine a learning framework course with composition, United States history and public speaking. Later terms bring in federal and Texas government along with core areas in mathematics, humanities and the social sciences, and the remaining slots go to electives chosen with an advisor. Mathematics and social science core selections help prepare students for later business coursework. The plan is listed for delivery at Big Spring, Lamesa, San Angelo and the SouthWest College for the Deaf, so students can choose the campus that suits them before moving on to a four-year institution.
