Cert in Criminal Justice and Corrections

The Law Enforcement program prepares students for work in the law enforcement field. Core courses cover law enforcement procedures and detention procedures. Students also complete general education courses in communication, writing, and sociology. The sequence moves from core law enforcement courses to detention procedures, so each course builds on the one before it. Students must keep a grade of C- or better in each course to remain in the program. The program is one year in length and totals 32 credits. Students follow a Major Academic Plan to track progress toward completion. Students who complete the program gain an introduction to law enforcement procedures and detention practices. Courses build communication and sociological perspectives relevant to the field. Students should consult the Major Academic Plan to plan their sequence of courses.
