MA/MS in Computer Engineering

Students heading toward advanced study, research or industry work in computer engineering are the audience for this master's degree. It lays groundwork across how computer systems are designed and developed, then adds depth in one major area. Experience is gained in designing hardware, in networking and telecommunications, and in both system software and application software. A study plan blends core and elective classes in a single concentration with courses from the remaining areas. Writing a thesis with a faculty adviser is possible but optional. Applicants holding an accredited bachelor's degree in an unrelated field may be admitted if they demonstrate the proficiency listed in the course bulletin. Classes are held on campus, so students have access to the laboratories used for hardware work.
