Program details

Overview

This culinary associate degree prepares students for work as a chef or in the wider food and beverage industry. Learners develop cooking and baking skills alongside the business and leadership abilities needed to run a kitchen. Training covers preparing food in large quantities, handling inventory and food costs, and keeping to food safety standards. Students also practice scheduling staff and guiding a busy kitchen team. Shorter technical certificates, including Chef's Apprentice and Culinary Arts, give an entry-level option for those who want to start with basic food service skills such as storage, safety and production before moving into the degree. Prospective students can request information or start an application directly from the program page. The institution, often called The River, serves the Treasure Coast region of Florida and welcomes learners at several stages of their education.
