Program details

Overview

This master's program in chemical and biomolecular engineering is flexible and has several options to suit varied interests and careers. Every student takes three required courses, meet a technical writing requirement and a seminar requirement, and take nine credits of electives. Two degree options exist. The essay-based option ends with an essay deposited in the library's electronic thesis database and a formal presentation, and typically takes three to four semesters. The research option places students in original research under a faculty mentor, including labs outside the department with a co-adviser, and is recommended for those considering a PhD. Students must also pass academic ethics and research conduct requirements.
