AA/AS in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities

Arrupe College at Loyola offers a liberal arts associate degree with a concentration in communication. It prepares students for jobs in planning media, writing copy, handling public relations, and coordinating social accounts. Students learn to interpret themes in introductory media courses, communicate in written, oral, and visual forms suited to their audience, and analyze diverse ideas in context. The degree requires completing the general education core and the Arrupe mission core, plus two communication courses on introductory communication and on communication and new media. Communication graduates appeal to nonprofit, government, and corporate employers. Arrupe Career Services helps students link their interests to majors and careers, with tools for exploring occupations and comparing college majors, so students can plan their next steps after the associate degree.
