AA/AS in Agriculture, General

Agriculture at McLennan Community College gives students a way into farming, food systems, and agricultural business. Instruction combines laboratory sessions and work in the field with grounding in the sciences, and the coursework points toward careers like food safety technician or agricultural supervisor. A transfer agreement with Texas A&M University-Kingsville benefits students completing the AS in Agriculture or Agribusiness. Those holding at least a 2.0 GPA are assured admission to bachelor's programs there, such as agronomy, horticulture, environmental science, and ranch management, including offerings at the campus in Bryan. The department additionally operates an Agroecology Technician Certificate aimed at high school students, taught largely online with part of the time spent at Highlander Ranch.
